Job summary

Nisga’a CIOPS is seeking a Civil Engineer (Structural Specialty) to lead planning, design and construction oversight for FBOP facilities. You will evaluate structural framing, foundations and building envelopes, ensuring code compliance and life-cycle performance, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a PE or RA licensure and 10+ years of experience in complex institutional projects, with the ability to obtain DOJ/BOP suitability.

Qualifications

• Must have professional Civil/structural engineering licensure (PE or RA).
• Experience with planning, design, review, and construction oversight of institutional facilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee structural design and construction activities for FBOP facilities.
• Review structural engineering documents for code compliance and adequacy.
• Coordinate design with multiple disciplines and provide technical recommendations on seismic, wind, and foundation integration.
• Participate in VE workshops to improve constructability and life-cycle costs.
• Support contract negotiations, construction administration, and dispute resolution.
