Job summary

Nisga'a CIOPS, LLC is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (Structural Specialty) to lead planning, design, review, and construction oversight for new Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities across the United States. You will apply advanced structural knowledge to ensure safety, code compliance, and lifecycle performance while coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Licensed structural engineer with civil/structural focus and professional certification.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience reviewing and delivering complex structural designs.
• Experience with federal facilities and compliance with building codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee design and construction activities for new correctional facilities.
• Review structural documents for completeness and code compliance.
• Evaluate framing, envelopes, foundations, and related components for safety and durability.
• Coordinate design with civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural and security disciplines.
• Provide recommendations on systems, seismic/wind loads and foundation integration.
• Serve as technical authority for complex structural issues affecting safety and performance.
• Develop policies, standards and criteria to support FBOP construction programs.
• Participate in VE workshops to improve constructability and lifecycle costs.
• Review RFIs, change orders, claims, and contractor modifications.
• Conduct site evaluations and inspections to ensure approved designs are followed.
• Assist in cost estimations and participate in procurement evaluations.
• Support contract negotiations and project documentation management.
