Job summary

Champion Home Builders in Athens, TX is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer & Design Manager to lead a team of drafters and designers, review and seal drawings, and guide projects from concept to production.

You will balance technical leadership with hands-on engineering, ensure code compliance, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with Sales, Production, Quality, and Operations to drive quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Current US Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Ability to stamp and seal structural drawings and documents.
• Minimum 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience leading/drafting/design teams and strong knowledge of codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of CAD drafters and designers.
• Review drawings, calculations, and technical documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Establish drafting and engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Quality, and Operations for project execution.
• Review and approve construction documents and seal engineering calculations.
