Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. in Athens, TX seeks a licensed Structural Engineer & Design Manager to lead a team of drafters and designers, review and seal structural plans, and guide projects from concept to production.

The role combines engineering leadership with hands-on design, ensuring compliance with codes and standards while mentoring staff and coordinating cross-functionally with Sales, Production, and Operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States required.
Must be able to stamp and seal structural drawings and documents.
Minimum 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
Experience leading/drafting/design teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of CAD drafters and designers.
Review drawings, calculations, and technical documents for accuracy and code compliance.
Establish drafting and engineering standards and best practices.
Coordinate with Sales, Production, Quality, and Operations for project execution.
Stamp and seal drawings and engineering documents where required.
Oversee multiple projects with deadlines and quality targets.
Provide technical support during construction, manufacturing, and installation phases.
