Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design-build structural efforts and supervise engineers. You will coordinate with architecture, MEP, and project teams, and guide complex solutions on diverse projects from design through construction.

The role requires PE licensure, 6–14+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of building codes. Travel may be required; Revit and structural analysis tools are used daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Typically 6–14+ years of structural engineering and design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license preferred.
• Experience operating in Responsible Charge for deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, AWC, and AISI codes.
• Experience with reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and foundations.
• Excellent communication, judgment and decision-making in high-risk situations.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Act as Engineer of Record for design-build projects and lead structural efforts.
• Coordinate structural design with multiple disciplines and teams.
• Prepare Narratives, schematic designs, and construction documents.
• Create 2D and 3D structural analysis models.
• Develop detailed models and drawings using Revit.
• Conduct Construction Administration tasks including RFI reviews.
• Evaluate nonconforming work and develop remediation plans.
• Review subcontractor remediation proposals for feasibility.
• Perform design assists and value engineering reviews.
• Assess temporary loads on structures and related equipment.
• Seal calculations and deliverables, ensuring QC across teams.
• Mentor, train, and supervise staff; develop work plans.
