Job summary

Redwire Space Enterprises, Inc. seeks a Sr. Structural Engineer to join the Goleta-based Structural Analysis team.

You will analyze, design, and validate mission-critical space structures for harsh launch and space environments, collaborating with mechanical, thermal, and systems engineers to ensure robust performance. Responsibilities include developing FE models using Nastran/Ansys, conducting static and dynamic testing support, and communicating results in formal design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with 5+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience creating finite element models with Nastran or Ansys from CAD data.
• Vibration test experience (random vibration and sine) and correlation with FEM results.
• Ability to travel to support testing, with most travel local.
• Familiarity with NASA/aerospace guidelines and specifications.
• Proficient with MS 365 including SharePoint/Teams; MS Project a plus.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work under general direction and solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop system-level dynamic finite element models of deployable spacecraft structures using Ansys or Femap/Nastran.
• Perform detailed modeling and analysis of composite and metallic structures.
• Support all phases of component and sub-component structural static and dynamic testing.
• Correlate analytical models with test results to validate structural performance.
• Conduct piece‑part stress analyses and document in stress reports.
• Review designs and drawings, providing analysis feedback to Design Engineering.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and systems teams to ensure requirements are met.
• Prepare and present technical reports for SRR, PDR, CDR reviews.
• Interface with customers to align on technical issues and requirements.
• Independently develop solutions and analysis approaches with minimal oversight.
