Job summary

Woolpert is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the design of data centers, industrial facilities, and advanced manufacturing projects from our Chicago, IL office in a hybrid role. You will coordinate with architectural, civil, MEP, and vendor teams, review calculations, and guide less experienced engineers.

With 10+ years of experience, you will apply IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and AISC standards while performing structural analysis and producing drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Project experience in data centers, industrial facilities, or similar complex projects.
• Experience with structural analysis programs and BIM workflows.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and AISC standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for data center, industrial, and manufacturing projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, and foundations.
• Coordinate with architectural, civil, MEP, process, and vendor teams.
• Review and help prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Support QA/QC and assist during construction with submittals and RFIs.
