Job summary

Woolpert, a global leader in architecture, engineering, and geospatial services, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer for our Chicago, IL location. You will lead structural design for data centers, industrial facilities, and advanced manufacturing, coordinating with multiple disciplines and guiding junior engineers on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Project experience should include data centers, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, or similar technically complex projects.
• Experience using structural analysis programs, design tools, and BIM coordination workflows.
• Strong working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and AISC standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design efforts for data center, industrial, and advanced manufacturing projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design for steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation systems.
• Work closely with architectural, civil, MEP, process, and vendor teams to resolve design and coordination items.
• Review and help prepare structural calculations, specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
• Support QA/QC reviews and assist during construction with submittals, RFIs, field questions, and related items.
