Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (PE)
• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software
• Experience in design calculations and layouts
• Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood
• Understanding of gravity and lateral analysis
• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is a must

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of structural design teams through design development and contract document phases
• Provide guidance and mentorship of structural colleagues
• Serve as a technical expert with authority in structural engineering for projects
• Perform QC reviews of design submissions
• Participate in inter-disciplinary coordination meetings and BIM clash detection
• Develop resource plans and program documents to improve workflows and project efficiency
• Meet with program leadership to report status and strategize direction
• Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, change orders, and ensure changes are reflected in documents
