Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a civil/structural engineer to perform design work on small and large projects under supervision. You will develop layouts, produce calculations, and coordinate with drafting teams to deliver complete drawings and specifications.

The ideal candidate has a BSCE or MSCE, 3+ years of relevant industrial experience, and a working knowledge of CAD software.

Qualifications

• IBC knowledge and application as per codes and standards.
• Proficiency with civil/structural analysis software.
• Understanding of process/manufacturing project design methods.
• Ability to lead small to mid-size teams.
• CAD software proficiency (AutoCAD/MicroStation).
• MS Word, Excel and Outlook proficiency.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Virtual teamwork and cross-divisional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient approaches.
• Produce preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimates.
• Prepare detailed design calculations and construction drawings.
• Review vendor and discipline drawings for conformance.
• Provide field data collection and construction support.
• Lead small to medium teams to coordinate civil/structural efforts.
• Advise senior engineers on design/scope changes.
• Assemble scopes and specs into packages for procurement.
