Job Description:

Fishbeck is seeking a talented Senior Structural Engineer with an established career in structural engineering and project management. The candidate will work on a variety of building, infrastructure, and miscellaneous structure projects for municipal, educational, industrial, and commercial clients. The role requires technical excellence, thorough and well-coordinated design documentation, self-motivation, independence, and a commitment to high-quality work.

Primary Functions:

1. Coordinate with Structural department staff to conceptualize economical structural systems for various projects.
2. Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and design to materials like structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, prestressed concrete, and wood/timber systems.
3. Manage project teams of structural staff on occasion.
4. Assist in developing marketing fees and proposals with technical staff and partners.
5. Develop quality design drawings and specifications applying structural design principles.
6. Demonstrate competency with standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318.
7. Exercise excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

Occasional light lifting, sitting, walking; field duties; access and maneuvering around project sites; travel; use of communication and documentation equipment; visual acuity required.

Desired Education:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a Structural emphasis.

Desired Skills/Experience:

• PE license in Ohio or ability to obtain by reciprocity.
• At least ten years of Structural Engineering consulting experience.
• Experience with BIM modeling (preferably Revit).
• Proficiency with analytical/design software like RISA, RAM, Tedds.
• Knowledge of standards such as AISC 341, ACI 350, ACI 530, and NDS.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Fishbeck's Grand Rapids office.
