Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking an experienced structural engineer to lead design and analysis for national architectural projects, including sports, aviation, and transit facilities. You'll prepare framing and foundations, collaborate across disciplines, and provide support through bidding and construction phases.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Architectural or Civil Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience and a Licensed PE with SE1; SE2 preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience.
Licensed PE with SE1 exam (SE2 preferred).
Core structural engineering skills in steel, concrete and masonry.
Wind and seismic load analysis proficiency.
Ability to develop calculations and drawings for construction.
Strong knowledge of Building Codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI).
Proficiency in software (Revit/BIM 360 and ETABS/SAP 2000/RISA).
Experience leading a team of structural engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead structural engineering analysis and design of building structures within national architectural practice.
Prepare structural analysis for framing and foundations (steel, concrete, masonry, wood).
Collaborate with peers and BIM technicians; develop design solutions from concept to final design.
Provide services during bidding and construction, including submittal reviews and site observation.
Coordinate design with multi-disciplinary teams and provide technical direction.
Support project management with cost-control and quality control.
Mentor junior staff and assist in professional development.
