Job summary

BBA Consultants seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead civil/structural design for heavy-industrial projects across mining, energy, and chemicals. You’ll advance from design to project leadership, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and guiding junior staff.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in civil/structural engineering, a PE license or path to licensure, and strong knowledge of US codes. Occasional site work and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural focus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.
• 15+ years of relevant civil/structural experience.
• Experience in industrial/mining/energy sectors and multidisciplinary delivery.
• Strong knowledge of NA civil/structural codes and standards.
• Experience coordinating scope, schedule, and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural design of heavy industrial projects from feasibility to construction support.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and process.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, and design memoranda.
• Mentor junior engineers, drafters, and designers.
• Interface with clients to clarify requirements and present solutions.
• Support QA/QC and project delivery with timely technical reviews.

BBA is seeking an Intermediate Civil/Structural Engineer to join our growing U.S. team. In this role,you will contribute to the delivery of multidisciplinary industrialinfrastructure projects in the mining,energy, renewable power, industrial, and chemical sectors.

You will play a key role in both technical execution and project delivery, supporting engineering design while progressively taking ownership of project coordination, client interactions, and technical leadership responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer ready to move beyond pure design execution into broader project leadership.

• Lead the civil and structural design of heavyindustrial projects from feasibility studies through detailed engineeringand construction support
• Perform engineering analysis and designfor civil and structural systems in accordance with applicable U.S. codesand industry standards
• Design and review:
  • Concrete foundations
  • Structural steel and reinforced concretestructures
  • Equipment support structures
  • Pipe racks, access platforms, andindustrial structural systems
  • Building structural components
• General civil infrastructure systemssupporting industrial facilities
• Prepare and review engineeringcalculations, technical reports, design memoranda, specifications, andconstruction packages
• Coordinate engineering activities withmultidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, process,geotechnical, environmental, and project management teams
• Provide technical guidance and mentorshipto junior engineers, designers, and drafters
• Support quality assurance and performtechnical reviews of engineering deliverables
• Manage assigned project tasks, schedules,budgets, and technical deliverables to support successful projectexecution
• Participate in project planning, scopedefinition, cost estimating, scheduling, and resource coordination
• Interface directly with clients toclarify technical requirements, present engineering solutions, and supportproject delivery discussions
• Support construction through fieldreviews, site visits, technical issue resolution, and contractorcoordination
• Contribute to continuous improvement,engineering best practices, and technical innovation
• Support business development activitiesincluding proposal preparation, technical input, and client relationshipdevelopment

Summary of certifications and job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineeringwith structural focus, or Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in the applicable U.S. jurisdiction within a reasonable timeframe
• 15+ years of relevant experience incivil and structural engineering
• Experience in industrial, mining, energy,infrastructure, or related sectors
• Demonstrated experience delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects
• Experience coordinating project scope,schedules, budgets, and engineering deliverables
• Strong understanding of North Americancivil and structural design codes and engineering standards
• Experience with engineering tools suchas:
  • SAP2000 / ETABS / STAAD or equivalent
  • AutoCAD / Navisworks / Revit
  • Mathcad or equivalent engineeringcalculation software
• Strong technical writing anddocumentation skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication, andcoordination skills
• Availability for occasional travel toclient and project sites
