Job summary

BBA is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our growing U.S. team. You will collaborate with experienced engineers on projects across mining, industrial, energy, renewable power, and chemical sectors.

You will develop civil infrastructure and structural designs from concept through construction support, including calculations, reports, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. This role offers diverse project exposure and site visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus or Structural Engineering.
  • EIT designation or eligible for registration in the applicable U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 6+ years of relevant civil/structural engineering experience.
  • Experience in industrial, mining, infrastructure, energy, or related sectors is an asset.
  • Familiarity with North American structural design codes and standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Revit, SAP2000/ETABS/SAFE/STAAD or similar software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support civil and structural design of industrial and infrastructure projects from preliminary to detailed engineering.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design memoranda, and construction docs.
  • Assist with site development, drainage, utility layouts, and access infrastructure.
  • Contribute to structural design of foundations, steel and reinforced concrete structures, and pipes racks.
  • Perform structural analyses and design calculations per U.S. codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, process, geotechnical and environmental.
  • Prepare quantities, specifications, material requisitions and construction packages.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, cost estimating and client meetings.

  • Support the structural design of:
    - Concrete foundations
    - Steel and reinforced concrete structures
    - Equipment support structures

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teamsincluding mechanical, electrical, process, geotechnical, and environmentaldisciplines
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, technicalspecifications, material requisitions, and construction packages
  • Review and coordinate engineeringdeliverables prepared by designers and drafters
  • Participate in project planning,scheduling, cost estimating, and technical coordination
  • Support construction activities throughsite visits, field reviews, and responding to technical queries
  • Participate in client meetings andcontribute to technical discussions
  • Contribute to engineering quality,continuous improvement, and best practices

Summary of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineeringwith a structural focus, or Structural Engineering
