Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer in the United States to join our growing team in Phoenix. Lead design from concept through detailed engineering, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines to deliver quality projects.

You will prepare calculations, reports, and construction docs, using AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis tools. A strong grounding in North American standards and excellent teamwork are essential as travel to project sites may be

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus, or Structural Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation or eligibility for registration in the applicable U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in civil and/or structural engineering.
  • Experience in industrial, mining, infrastructure, energy, or related sectors is assets.
  • Familiarity with structural design codes and engineering standards in North America.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD / Revit and structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD).
  • Mathcad or equivalent engineering calculation tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specs, and documents.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • MS Office; occasional travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support civil and structural design of industrial and infrastructure projects from preliminary studies through detailed engineering.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design memoranda, and construction documentation.
  • Assist with design of civil infrastructure systems including site development, drainage, utilities, and access infrastructure.
  • Support the structural design of concrete foundations, steel and reinforced concrete structures, equipment supports, pipe racks, platforms, and industrial structural systems.
  • Assist in structural analysis and preparation of design calculations per U.S. codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, process, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, technical specifications, material requisitions, and construction packages.
  • Review and coordinate engineering deliverables by designers and drafters.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and technical coordination.
  • Support construction activities through site visits, field reviews, and responding to technical queries.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to technical discussions.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams on projects in the mining, industrial, energy, renewable power, and chemical sectors. Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements
