Job summary

Hatfield Group Engineering in Manhattan seeks a Senior Structural Engineer with 15+ years of experience to lead complex design through construction in high-profile projects.

You will own projects and teams, coordinate with architects and owners, mentor BIM staff, and ensure design excellence and sustainability while applying NYC Building Code standards.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer (15+ years of experience) to lead complex projects from design through construction. This is a senior-level position with real leadership and upward growth potential - a chance to shape not only projects but the future of our firm.

What You'll Do

As a senior leader, you'll take full ownership of projects and teams, balancing technical excellence with client relationships. Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the design of concrete, steel, and timber structures - from beams and columns to lateral systems and foundations.

Producing and overseeing high-quality, organized calculations using SAP, ETABS, RAM, and other tools.

Directing the preparation and review of drawing sets, markups, and project deliverables.

Serving as a trusted client partner - coordinating directly with architects, developers, and owners.

Mentoring and guiding engineers and BIM specialists on your project teams.

Applying deep knowledge of the NYC Building Code and industry standards to ensure compliance and innovation.

What We're Looking For

15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering within architecture, engineering, or construction.

Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale and complex projects from concept to completion.

Proficiency with Revit, SAP, ETABS, RAM, Microsoft Office.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
