Job summary

1X is seeking a Structural Dynamics & Validation Engineer to own the structural dynamics strategy for robotic subsystems. Translate operational requirements into validated models and test methodologies, define loading environments, and ensure hardware meets shock, vibration, durability, acoustic, and control stability requirements across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in structural dynamics, vibration analysis, durability engineering, or mechanical validation.
• Experience developing correlated analytical and experimental structural models.
• Strong understanding of modal analysis, frequency response, shock, vibration, fatigue, and validation techniques.
• Experience designing instrumentation plans, test setups, and data acquisition campaigns.
• Experience with FEA and structural simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Own structural dynamics and validation strategy for robotic subsystems from requirements to validated models.
• Define loading environments, develop simulation and experimental validation methods.
• Ensure hardware designs meet shock, vibration, durability, acoustic, and control stability requirements.
• Lead instrumentation, data acquisition, testing, model correlation, and reporting.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, systems, and reliability engineers to improve robot performance.
