Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an experienced Structural Designer for a contract assignment in the Birmingham, AL area. The role focuses on producing 3D models and drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and ductwork, coordinating with vendors, clients, and site teams to address constructability.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in heavy industrial/power plants, strong AutoCAD and 3D modeling skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience
• PPE: hard hat, safety boots & glasses, safety vest
• Proficient with AutoCAD and 3D modeling software

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models and design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork.
• Prepare layouts and conceptual designs; review vendor shop fabrication drawings.
• Prepare material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates; coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and contractors; perform site walk-downs for constructability.
