Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an experienced Sitework Designer 2 for a one-year contract assignment in the Birmingham, AL area. The role involves producing 3D models and design drawings for sitework grading and drainage, preparing layouts and conceptual designs, reviewing vendor drawings, and assisting with cost estimates.

The position requires travel about 25% of the time and PPE for field visits (hard hats, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hi‑vis vest).

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of related experience
• Technical degree preferred
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.

Responsibilities

• Producing 3D models and design drawings for sitework grading and drainage
• Preparing layouts and conceptual designs
• Reviewing vendor drawings
• Preparing material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates.
