Job summary

Hargrove & Associates Inc. in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Structural Designer to perform comprehensive civil/structural design work. The role supports larger, complex projects, under supervision in our Pasadena office.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in engineering tech or CAD and 4+ years of relevant drafting/design experience, with strong CAD skills in AutoCAD or Microstation, plus solid communication and teamwork abilities. On-site role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural drafting and design.
• Ability to produce drawings for concrete and structural steel.
• Familiarity with construction bulk materials specifications and equipment.
• Knowledge of CAD drafting standards and company design standards.
• Ability to create accurate civil/structural construction documents from vendor drawings.
• Understanding of work flow between disciplines and schedule constraints.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; able to work in a virtual team.

Responsibilities

• Produce civil/structural drawings for concrete and structural steel.
• Draft civil/structural plans under minimal supervision.
• Ensure designs meet specifications and standards.
• Review information from equipment drawings and vendor docs.
• Mentor entry-level teammates as needed.
• Assist engineers with cost estimates and design studies.
