Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering Group is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to join our team in a role focused on design modeling, drawing/document creation, and BIM data exchange. You will work on foundation and steel design and coordinate with engineers and multiple disciplines to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate will mentor peers, help establish and improve standards, and be a technical resource for less experienced designers, collaborating across the district to drive

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAD training program and 9+ years of Tekla-based design experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design group members to review and exchange project information.
• Check design for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking.
• Report task progress to Lead Designer.
• Gathers required information and collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.
• Leverages Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details.
• Assist in the development of department standards and tools.
• Mentors other team members in design and modeling techniques.
• Resolve design issues effectively with input from responsible engineer.
