Sargent & Lundy offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, plus a relocation package dependent on location. The role focuses on supervising the production of structural design deliverables and coordinating with mechanical and electrical teams to resolve 3D model clashes.

Expect travel to client sites as needed and exposure to power, mining, oil & gas, and renewables projects.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred; CAD certificate required if non‑degreed.
• 10+ years of experience required in CAD/design.
• Must be proficient in at least one major CAD software and able to supervise design deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of designers to ensure structural drawings are completed on-time and within budget, while maintaining quality and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical designers to resolve clashes in the 3D model and optimize the overall design; travel to client facilities may be required.
• Adapt to a wide range of technologies in power generation, mining, oil & gas, and renewables; support carbon capture, solar, wind, and other energy projects.

Description

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days. Dependent upon your location, this opportunity offers a generous relocation package.

This position offers the opportunity to supervise and oversee all aspect of the production of structural design deliverables on a project.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of designers to ensure structural drawings are completed on-time and within budget, while maintaining quality, consistency, and accountability that meets or exceeds customer requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical designers and engineers to resolve clashes within the 3D model, optimizing the overall design. Travel to client facilities may be necessary to verify on-site physical design conditions.
• Adapt to a wide range of technologies in power generation, mining, oil & gas, and renewables. We are leading the charge in carbon capture technologies, while also working in solar, wind, battery storage, hydrogen, and natural gas. customer requirements.

Qualifications

Education and experience:

• Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred
• CAD certificate required if non-degreed
• Minimum of 10 years of experience required

Essential skills:

• Proficiency in at least one major CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Tekla, Revit, SmartPlant 3D).
• Knowledge of American Concrete Institute (ACI) for foundation design
• Knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) manual for steel design

Compensation Range

$77,890 - $118,999
