Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, to lead structural design across buildings, bridges, and infrastructure. You will direct design teams, oversee detailed drawings, and ensure safety and quality throughout projects.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with a structural focus, Pr. Eng registration, and 7+ years of experience in design and project management. Relocation to Queenstown is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural focus.
• Master's degree is advantageous but not required.
• Pr. Eng with ECSA registration is required.
• 7+ years in structural engineering design and project management.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS; CAD tools for design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of buildings, bridges, and civil infrastructure.
• Perform structural analysis and calculations using advanced software.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations (e.g., SANS).
• Oversee site investigations and construction phases to ensure design intent and quality.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for structural components.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians.
• Conduct peer reviews of designs and technical documents.
