Job summary

Contech seeks a Sr. Design Engineer to lead the structural design and analysis of precast concrete structures for projects ranging from bridges to residential and commercial facilities. You will oversee design, submission, and project management with strong collaboration across teams.

You will review shop drawings, perform analyses, and coordinate with sales and production. Travel to Salt Lake City, UT and Caldwell, ID is required; remote work is available with effective collaboration tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; preference for a Master’s in Civil Engineering (Structural).
• 5+ years in precast concrete or reinforced concrete and steel design; prestressed/precast preferred.
• Professional Engineer registration; ability to register in multiple states.
• Experience with precast software; Finite element analysis is a plus.
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE7, ACI318, PCI, AISC, AWS codes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; professional demeanor.
• Willingness to travel to Salt Lake City, UT and Caldwell, ID.

Responsibilities

• Structural Design: manage engineering, submission, and project management of designs.
• Structural Analysis: design of precast structures; ensure code compliance.
• Problem Solving: anticipate and address issues; communicate with customers.
• Project Management: coordinate with PMs, drafters, estimators, architects, engineers, contractors, and production.
• Customer Engagement: collaborate with sales; occasional calls with engineering firms, counties, cities.
• Sales and Estimating Support: assist sales/estimating; support production operations.
• Safety and Compliance: support health, safety, quality, environmental programs.
