Job summary

1X in San Carlos, CA, is seeking a Sr. Buyer, Structures to own sourcing strategy for structural components powering NEO’s mechanical architecture. You’ll partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supplier Development to build a resilient global supply base enabling scalable production.

The role emphasizes supplier performance management, cost reduction, and risk mitigation, with exposure to die casting, CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, and composites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in global sourcing, supply chain management, strategic sourcing, or procurement.
• Experience supporting suppliers for mechanical or structural components.
• Experience working with Engineering and Manufacturing teams during product development or production.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities delivering cost, quality, capacity, and technology advantages.
• Manage supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Support new product introduction through supplier selection and tooling management.
• Identify supply risks and implement cross-functional mitigation plans.
• Drive cost reduction through supplier negotiations and value engineering.
