Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a Structural Building Inspector to join a nationwide team. The role requires on-site inspections, plan review, and precise documentation to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and local regulations.

You will collaborate with contractors, architects, and municipal staff, handling inquiries and enforcing codes while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards.

Qualifications

• FL Building Inspector license required.
• 3–5 years combined field inspection experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conducts on-site inspections of buildings and structures to verify compliance with the Florida Building Code and applicable local regulations.
• Review structural plans and construction documents for adherence to building codes and design standards.
• Document inspection results, issue reports, and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with contractors, architect, engineers, and municipal staff regarding compliance and code interpretation.
• Assess and resolve complaints received from clients, applicants, public, designers, and contractors.
• Regularly interacts directly with municipal clients and their staff.
• Maintain professional knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
