Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking a motivated Structural Bridge Engineer to join our Idaho team. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of transportation structures, including bridges, retaining walls, and culverts, while working with ITD and LHTAC clients.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, manage tasks, and provide technical leadership on varied projects across Idaho, with mentorship and support available to grow your expertise in structural engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible structural design experience.
• Experience with concrete, steel, and/or prestressed concrete bridge design preferred.
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
• Knowledge of ITD/LHTAC standards is preferred.
• Experience with structural analysis software (CSI Bridge, SAP2000, LPILE, RISA3D or similar).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; MicroStation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, analyze, and design transportation structures, including calculations and reports.
• Prepare Plans, PS&E packages, and engineer’s cost estimates.
• Perform bridge load rating.
• Model and analyze structures using industry software.
• Prepare engineering reports and memoranda.
• Review shop drawings and provide construction-stage support.
• Assist with construction cost estimation and quantity takeoffs.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Support ITD and Local Highway projects across Idaho.
