Jacobs in West Des Moines, IA, is hiring a Structural Bridge Engineer to join our transportation team. You will lead bridge design projects, perform complex structural analyses, and develop plans, specifications, and reports for local and national projects.

In this role you may also contribute to inspections and design documentation. The position requires a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering with 6–10 years of bridge experience and a PE in IA or the ability to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 6–10 years of bridge design and inspection experience.
• Registered PE in IA or able to obtain within 6 months.
• Solid understanding of standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes.
• Ability to produce design documentation/calculations.
• Proficiency in bridge design software and CAD tools.
• Understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
