Job summary

Stratolaunch seeks a Sr- or Staff-level Structural Analyst to support design, analysis, integration, testing, and maintenance of hypersonic vehicle and launch system structures. You will contribute to FEM models, hand calculations, and design modifications to meet mission requirements, while collaborating with engineering teams and leading analysts.

You will apply FEM to vehicle loads, perform modal analyses, and prepare reports on structural margins.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in structures with clear load-path understanding.
• Ability to perform hand calculations on structural components.
• Experience designing/analyzing composite or metallic structures.
• Experience with FEM generation and FEA.
• Experience generating pre- and post-processing scripts.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges to varied audiences.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Adaptability to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to structural development of hypersonic vehicles and launch systems.
• Create and maintain FEM models and data scripts.
• Apply loads to FEM, perform modal and linear FEA analyses.
• Conduct structural trade studies to optimize airframe load paths.
• Cross-check FEA results with hand calculations and modify designs.
• Select materials and construction methods to meet objectives.
• Collaborate with designers to implement analysis-driven changes.
• Produce analysis reports documenting structural margins.
• Engage in detailed design of structural components and assemblies.
• Support disposition of manufacturing nonconformances and risk mitigation.
• Communicate with the Structures Lead and Manager on progress.
