Job summary

Stratolaunch is seeking a level II or Sr-level Flight Sciences Engineer to support conceptual design and aerodynamic analyses of hypersonic vehicles. You will contribute to a small design team, performing trade studies, analysis, and tool development for current and future Stratolaunch hypersonic assets.

Required capabilities include aerodynamics, stability & control, CFD, and wind tunnel data interpretation, with preferred experience across subsonic to hypersonic regimes and the ability to

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in aerodynamics and flight mechanics, including stability and control.
• Experience with subsonic, transonic, or supersonic theory and analyses.
• Ability to develop aerodynamic models and analytical tools.
• Security clearance willingness.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle trajectory analysis and optimization on current and future vehicles.
• Contribute to aerodynamic databases using analytical and flight test data.
• Evaluate aerodynamics, performance, and stability & control of hypersonic vehicles.
• Develop aerodynamic models for various hypersonic configurations.
• Support flight performance simulations and wind-tunnel data analyses.
