Job summary

Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. Structural Analysis Engineer to support spacecraft structural systems from concept through verification.

You will develop and review finite element models, perform static/dynamic analyses, and coordinate mechanical testing with internal teams and external labs. The role requires 5+ years in aerospace structural analysis, proficiency with Nastran/Patran, and familiarity with MIL/NASA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of direct industry experience performing structural analyses in space/aerospace.
• Experience with Nastran and Patran.
• Experience with vibration and shock testing of aerospace equipment; familiarity with MIL and NASA standards.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify structural design constraints and mitigation strategies across concept development, prototyping, production, testing, and launch integration.
• Plan and coordinate structural analysis tasks for ongoing programs.
• Create and review detailed finite element models of satellite structures and perform static, dynamic, buckling, thermal, linear/nonlinear, and transient analyses.
• Support mechanical test projects, coordinate with test houses, design and analyze test fixtures, and document decisions.
