Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space Mission Systems (SMS) in El Segundo, California seeks a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to own mechanical integrity of space hardware and lead structural analysis across the life cycle of satellite systems. Candidates must obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance and be onsite, with 9/80 schedule participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Materials Sciences).
• Typically, 14+ years' related work experience.
• Stress analysis or structural analysis experience.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement the engineering statement of work for current and future satellite systems contracts in structural analysis with a focus on first-time quality, on-time engineering, cost, and schedule.
• Lead development, integration, qualification, and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
• Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish product environment.
• Guide product design and verify structural integrity using analytical methods and finite element models throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead development of test plans, support test execution, and analyze/test results to verify requirements.
• Define and document certification and test results for customers and regulatory agencies.
• Lead investigations into failures and analyze improvements.
• Develop analytical processes and tools to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Support supplier hardware development, production, and test activities to ensure hardware integrates with design.
• Perform structural analysis using Patran, Nastran, Abaqus, HyperMesh, CREO-Simulate, or similar tools.
