Job summary

Volant Partners, Inc in Seattle seeks a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to lead design and verification of aerospace hardware. You will perform loads, sizing, FE modeling (Nastran/Patran/Femap/HyperMesh), and stress reporting across product lifecycles.

Responsibilities include a balance of hand calculations, acceptance testing support, and cross-functional collaboration with design, test and manufacturing teams. Excellent communication is required.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of structural/stress analysis experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or related field.
• Strong foundations in strength of materials and structural mechanics.
• Experience with FEA tools and reading engineering drawings (GD&T).
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform trade studies on structural configurations and joints.
• Define external/internal loads and document load paths.
• Size primary/secondary structures for strength and stiffness.
• Develop and verify finite element models (Nastran) and post-processors.
• Carry out hand calculations to verify FE results.
• Prepare stress analysis reports and margins-of-safety calculations.
