Job summary

VSA Partners is seeking an Associate Director, Strategy to turn complex client situations into clear, actionable direction. This senior role brings structure to ambiguity and leads major strategy workstreams with increasing independence.

You will connect strategy to brand identity, messaging, campaigns, experiences, content, and activation while collaborating with senior strategy leadership, client teams, creative and engagement partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6–9 years in brand/marketing strategy, communications strategy, or related field.
• Experience developing insights, strategic recommendations, positioning, messaging, and client-ready strategy deliverables.
• Foundational strategy tools and methods, including frameworks, stakeholder interviews, workshops, research inputs, and synthesis.
• Strong writing, presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clarify client challenges and turn inputs into clear strategic implications and recommendations.
• Lead significant strategy workstreams or smaller engagements with increasing independence.
• Apply core strategy tools and methods to structure work and strengthen recommendations.
• Build client confidence through preparation, judgment, and clear communication.
• Shape clear, useful deliverables, briefs, narratives, and strategic direction.
• Support the Strategy practice by collaborating with Directors and cross-functional partners.
