Job summary

American Water seeks a Senior Manager, Strategic Finance to lead integrated financial modeling for long-range plans, scenarios, and key business decisions. You will partner with cross-functional teams to align inputs, evaluate impacts, and present clear recommendations to senior leadership.

The role requires advanced modeling, forecasting, and strong communication skills, with a hybrid work schedule in New Jersey and eligibility for an annual incentive program alongside a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or professional finance certification preferred.
Seven+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or related fields.
Experience owning and maintaining integrated three-statement financial models.
Regulated utility experience and familiarity with rate base and regulatory frameworks is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain integrated three-statement financial models to support long-range planning and decisions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to validate inputs, align assumptions, and review scenarios.
Create scenarios and sensitivity analyses for capital investments, regulatory outcomes, and strategic initiatives.
Own outer plan years of the annual planning process and ensure alignment with long-range objectives.
Prepare executive materials summarizing scenarios, impacts, risks, and trade-offs.
