Job summary

American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility in the United States, seeks a senior finance leader to guide strategy, planning and forecasting for a large state or line of business. You will oversee financial reporting, analysis, and advisory support to executive management.

You will lead a team of finance professionals and partner with operations and corporate teams to drive growth and ensure GAAP compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field required.
• MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy development and the resulting financial plan to achieve targets and align with the corporate plan.
• Coordinate and develop high-quality financial reporting—monthly and annual reporting, planning, reforecasting, and risk analysis.
• Evaluate new business proposals with financial analysis and modeling to assess viability.
• Provide financial guidance and act as the point of contact for all finance-related activities (rate reviews, audits, financing, etc.).
• Build and manage a strong team of finance professionals, including coaching and succession planning.
• Handle other special projects and ad hoc assignments.
