JOB SUMMARY

Support leadership of Highmark, or its affiliates, with strategy activities essential to membership and margin goals. Strategy Analysts provide analytical and strategic support to enable project teams to:

  1. Identify business issues;
  2. Design and execute analytics (market research, scenario planning, forecasting, market share, profitability, etc.);
  3. Develop technical content (competitive intelligence, market trend analysis);
  4. Support development of formal recommendations for senior leadership;
  5. Create documents (go-to-market or operational strategies) informing strategic decisions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with business/market owners to identify key issues, articulate problems, develop solutions, and present findings to stakeholders;
  • Lead or participate in strategy projects/work streams under guidance, utilizing internal or external consulting resources;
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on membership, growth, and operational strategies;
  • Provide guidance and performance feedback to team members, with potential supervisory roles on projects;
  • Apply broad knowledge to develop analytical frameworks and approaches for complex strategy issues;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Life Sciences, or relevant experience;
  • 5-10 years of experience in strategy, management consulting, or internal strategy within healthcare or related sectors.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in related fields;
  • Experience in Health Insurance operations and technology;
  • Operational improvement experience.

SKILLS

  • Strategic thinking principles and related field knowledge;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel);
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends and challenges.

Travel Requirement: 0% - 25%

PHYSICAL, MENTAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS

Position Type: Office-based

Teaching/training others regularly; occasional travel; occasional physical work site requirements with lifting up to 50 pounds;

Work primarily out-of-office in sales roles; physical work site required.

Pay Range: $92,300 - $172,500

Base pay depends on qualifications, experience, and other factors. This range does not account for geographic differences.
