Job summary

USCENTCOM in Tampa seeks a Senior Strategic Planner to lead joint strategy, plans, exercises, and policy support. The role supports theater-level planning, develops campaigns, orders, and assessments, coordinating with interagency and partner nations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Execute all phases of the Joint Operational Planning Process.
  • Transition plans to execution organizations while preserving situational awareness.
  • Support planning with USCENTCOM components, Joint Staff, OSD, federal agencies, allies, coalition members, and partner nations.
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding joint planning, execution systems, exercise and training planning, and joint doctrine.
  • Evaluate and coordinate strategies, plans, and policies affecting the USCENTCOM AOR.
  • Prepare analyses, recommendations, draft orders, estimates, and senior-leader briefings.
  • Advise Commander’s staff on strategic and regional concerns and coordinate with coalition and regional representatives.
  • Coordinate FOIA requests and MDRs for designated CCJ5 files.
  • Safeguard classified and unclassified Government information, property, controlled forms, facilities, equipment, and materials.
  • Maintain Government records and comply with federal records, FOIA, Privacy Act, DoD, and USCENTCOM requirements.
  • Perform work to the PWS quality standards and correct identified product deficiencies.
  • Support required contract deliverables and provide products to the designated government task lead, COR, or alternate COR.

CLIN: Senior Strategy, Plans, Exercises and Policy Support Services

Background: This contract supports U.S. Central Command's theater-level planning mission by providing experienced professionals who develop strategies, campaign plans, operational orders, assessments, and coordination products that integrate military, interagency, allied, and partner-nation activities throughout the USCENTCOM area of responsibility.

Position Summary:Provides senior-level joint strategy, plans, exercises, and policy expertise for USCENTCOM operational planning teams and working groups.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Execute all phases of the Joint Operational Planning Process.
  • Transition plans to execution organizations while preserving situational awareness and decision rationale.
  • Support planning with USCENTCOM components, other Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, OSD, federal agencies, allies, coalition members, and partner nations.
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding joint planning, execution systems, exercise and training planning, and joint doctrine.
  • Evaluate and coordinate strategies, plans, and policies affecting the USCENTCOM AOR.
  • Prepare analyses, recommendations, draft orders, estimates, and senior-leader briefings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of JAWS, SAMS, SAASS, SAW, MAWS, or Senior Service College.
  • At least 5 years of planning experience.
  • At least 3 years of planning experience at a Geographic or Functional Combatant Command headquarters.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Skills, knowledge, training, current certifications, and licenses necessary to perform the assigned PWS services.
  • Common Access Card eligibility and completion of required Information Assurance training and the USCENTCOM Staff Officer Orientation Course before network access.
Security, Work Location, Schedule, and Travel
  • Minimum TS/SCI clearance must be possessed and maintained unless the applicable CLIN description expressly provides an exception. Applicable positions may be subject to a counterintelligence polygraph.
  • Primary place of performance is generally USCENTCOM Headquarters, Tampa, Florida, unless supporting an authorized contingency or continuity requirement. Approved remote work may include classified or unclassified work under current USCENTCOM policy.
  • Normal operations mirror USCENTCOM military and civilian schedules. The basic workday is eight hours between 0730 and 1630, with core hours from 0900 to 1500, Monday through Friday except federal holidays or facility closures.
  • Must be prepared and eligible for CONUS and OCONUS travel and able to obtain an official passport when required.

Compensation for this position is competitive and will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and contractual considerations.
