Job summary

USCENTCOM seeks a Strategic Communications Planner to develop and synchronize communication strategies, narratives, and key-leader engagement activities for theater-level planning. This role supports messaging, assessments, and Annex Y products within CONPLANs, OPLANs, and OPORDs.

Based in Tampa, FL, the position requires 5+ years of planning experience in Public Affairs or related fields, English fluency, and eligibility for security clearances. Remote work may be allowed per USCENTCOM policy.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of planning experience in Public Affairs, Information Operations, or related fields.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Common Access Card eligibility and completion of required IA training before network access.

Strategic Communications Planner

Full Time Professional FL-CENTCOM SPPS, Tampa, FL, US

CLIN: Strategy, Plans, Exercises, and Policy Support Services / Communication Synchronization

Background:This contract supports U.S. Central Command's theater-level planning mission by providing experienced professionals who develop strategies, campaign plans, operational orders, assessments, and coordination products that integrate military, interagency, allied, and partner-nation activities throughout the USCENTCOM area of responsibility.

Position Summary:Develops and synchronizes communication strategies, narratives, themes, key-leader engagement activities, strategic messaging, assessments, and Annex Y products.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and synchronize communication strategies and plans.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for Key Leader Engagement policies and recommend KLE management tools.
  • Manage KLE data, read-outs, and strategic messaging content.
  • Support communication initiatives and strategies, including themes, narratives, actions, activities, and key-audience identification.
  • Track themes and messages from USG leaders and synchronize communication efforts in CONPLANs and OPLANs.
  • Unify communications among USCENTCOM, subordinate commands, Joint Staff, and interagency partners.
  • Integrate communication planning, operations, and assessments across Public Affairs, Information Operations, and KLE.
  • Prepare oral and written presentations and senior-leader briefings.
  • Develop and update Annex Y, Commander’s Communication Strategy, for CONPLANs, OPLANs, and OPORDs.
  • Coordinate FOIA requests and MDRs for designated CCJ5 files.
  • Safeguard classified and unclassified Government information, property, controlled forms, facilities, equipment, and materials.
  • Maintain Government records separately from company records and comply with applicable federal records, FOIA, Privacy Act, DoD, and USCENTCOM requirements.
  • Perform work to the PWS quality standards and correct identified product deficiencies within applicable performance thresholds.
  • Support required contract deliverables and provide products to the designated government task lead, COR, or alternate COR through approved USCENTCOM channels.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of planning experience in Public Affairs, Information Operations, Key Leader Engagements, or Civil Affairs.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Skills, knowledge, training, current certifications, and licenses necessary to perform the assigned PWS services.
  • Common Access Card eligibility and completion of required Information Assurance training and the USCENTCOM Staff Officer Orientation Course before network access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Joint Professional Military Education I.
  • Corporate marketing experience.
Security, Work Location, Schedule, and Travel
  • Approximately 50 percent of personnel under this CLIN require TS/SCI; the remainder require Secret and work outside the SCIF.
  • Primary place of performance is generally USCENTCOM Headquarters, Tampa, Florida, unless supporting an authorized contingency or continuity requirement. Approved remote work may include classified or unclassified work under current USCENTCOM policy.
  • Normal operations mirror USCENTCOM military and civilian schedules. The basic workday is eight hours between 0730 and 1630, with core hours from 0900 to 1500, Monday through Friday except federal holidays or facility closures.
  • Must be prepared and eligible for CONUS and OCONUS travel and able to obtain an official passport when required.

Compensation for this position is competitive and will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and contractual considerations.
