Job summary

The Foth Companies are seeking an experienced Lead Stormwater & Water Resources Engineer to provide technical leadership across nationwide stormwater, drainage, flood mitigation, and water resources projects. The ideal candidate will mentor engineers, advance standards, and apply advanced modeling tools.

Located near one of Foth’s offices, remote candidates may be considered based on alignment with leadership needs and background. Senior-level engineers with PE licensure are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience with stormwater, drainage and water resources engineering.
• Experience providing technical leadership and guidance on water resources projects.
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, HydroCAD, ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience preparing or reviewing engineering reports, studies, design plans, specifications, bid documents, or construction documents.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly with project teams, clients, and agencies.
• Ability to travel 10–20% for project, client, conference, or technical collaboration needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical leader for stormwater, drainage, flood risk, and water resources projects across markets.
• Provide oversight for reports, modeling, calculations, designs, and construction documents.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, reviews, and training.
• Support development of discipline standards, QA/QC workflows, and training resources.
• Lead design and delivery of stormwater systems and drainage infrastructure.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for urban and rural watersheds.
• Model hydrologic/hydraulic processes using industry-standard software.
• Coordinate with agencies on stormwater and water resources projects.
