Job summary

NV5 is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Scientist - Stormwater Compliance & Water Resources in Torrance, CA. You will support CA regulatory programs, perform inspections, and prepare technical plans and regulatory reports for varied clients including industrial, municipal, and construction sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in stormwater compliance, environmental permitting, water quality programs, or related environmental consulting services.
• Strong understanding of California IGP, CGP, Region 9 CII permit, and/or municipal NPDES permits.
• Experience performing environmental inspections, stormwater monitoring, sampling, and regulatory reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Support stormwater compliance programs and water quality initiatives under CA regulatory framework.
• Conduct site inspections, compliance audits, monitoring, sampling, and wet-weather activities.
• Prepare SWPPPs, WPCPs, ERAPs, MIPs, SAPs, QAPPs, and regulatory compliance reports.
• Evaluate data and develop practical compliance strategies and corrective actions.
• Assist with BMP design and treatment control measures.
• Coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies; contribute to project planning and BD initiatives.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to deliver high-quality projects.
