Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in Concord, CA is seeking a Senior Scientist to join our Engineering, Construction, and Remediation practice.

The role will act as Project Manager and Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) on stormwater compliance and erosion control projects, ideally located to support North Bay programs. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, program management, regulatory guidance, and client support while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with a regional team to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science, civil or environmental engineering, geology, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in stormwater compliance, environmental permitting, and related regulatory programs.
• Current QSD certification in California.
• Experience managing complex environmental or stormwater compliance projects.
• Strong knowledge of stormwater regulations, erosion and sediment control, and NPDES permitting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage stormwater compliance projects from proposal to closeout.
• Serve as technical lead for stormwater permitting and SWPPP preparation.
• Prepare, review, and certify stormwater documents as a QSD for construction and municipal sites.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with regulators, clients, and internal teams.
