Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Senior Project Manager for its Water Resources practice in California. This role is aligned with a Principal Engineer level, focusing on leadership, project planning, and client relations across flood control, stormwater, and hydraulic modeling projects.

The successful candidate will lead design and construction efforts, mentor engineers, develop proposals, and maintain strong client networks while working in a hybrid office environment across California offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering required.
• 14+ years of relevant experience.
• 4+ years of project and staff management.
• Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
• PE licensure in CA.

Responsibilities

• Manage large design/construction projects.
• Provide technical leadership within Water Resources sector.
• Oversee engineering designs, reports, drawings, specs, and calculations for water distribution systems.
• Review designs for compliance with principles and standards.
• Develop proposals and budgets for large projects.
• Meet with clients to determine scope, staffing and fees.
• Maintain client relationships throughout projects.
• Mentor Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers.
• Maintain workload projections for active projects.
