Job summary

Target seeks a Senior Designer on the Architecture team to translate guest experience, brand, and business strategies into architecturally sound, buildable solutions. You will own discrete projects and shape design outcomes across new stores, remodels, and prototypes.

The role requires autonomy and strong collaboration with Architecture, Construction, Engineering, Store Planning, Real Estate, and Brand/Marketing to balance design intent with cost and feasibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required (Master’s preferred).
• Translate design concepts into site-specific architectural solutions.
• Strong design judgment and ability to translate brand principles into outcomes.
• Experience producing or reviewing construction documentation with consultants.
• Understand building systems, materials, detailing, and constructability.
• Familiarity with codes, zoning, and jurisdictional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Translate brand, design principles, and briefs into site-specific architectural solutions with a strong point of view.
• Develop elevations, site adaptations, and submittal packages that meet local requirements while preserving design intent.
• Represent design intent to municipalities, developers, and partners while balancing brand, budget, and regulatory needs.
• Advance design through Feasibility and Schematic Design to Construction, guiding consultants for alignment.
• Review construction documentation to maintain quality, consistency, and constructability.
• Support projects during construction by resolving field questions and adapting solutions while preserving design vision.
• Balance design ambition with cost, schedule, and operations realities for guest experience.
