Job summary

Target's Architecture & Guest Experience team in Minnesota is seeking a Senior Designer to translate brand strategy into architecturally sound, buildable solutions.

You will lead design from feasibility to construction, collaborate with municipalities, developers, and internal partners, and ensure design integrity while balancing cost and schedule.

This hybrid role offers on-site collaboration at Target HQ and remote work options and a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred)
• 4+ years of relevant experience in architecture or retail design
• Demonstrated ability to translate design concepts into site-specific architectural solutions
• Strong design judgment and a clear point of view, translating brand into architectural outcomes
• Experience producing/reviewing construction documentation with consultants
• Understanding of building systems, materials, detailing, and constructability
• Familiarity with adapting designs to codes, zoning, and jurisdictional requirements
• Ability to balance creative design thinking with scalable, repeatable solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams
• Ability to represent ideas through sketching, 3D modeling, and visual communication tools

Responsibilities

• Translate brand, design principles, and briefs into site-specific architectural solutions with a strong point of view
• Develop elevations, site adaptations, and submittal packages complying with local requirements
• Represent design intent in conversations with municipalities, developers, and internal partners
• Advance design work from Feasibility and Schematic Design through Construction
• Review construction documentation to maintain quality, consistency, and constructability
• Support projects through construction by resolving field questions and adapting solutions
• Balance design ambition with cost, schedule, and operational realities
• Apply design solutions within scalable systems and prototypes
• Collaborate across Architecture, Construction, Engineering, Store Planning, Real Estate, and Brand/Marketing
• Communicate ideas clearly through drawings, models, and storytelling
