Job summary

Target is seeking a Design Project Manager within the Construction organization to lead design-focused initiatives across a portfolio of projects, bridging Store Design with Construction to ensure design intent is realized.

You will manage cross-functional programs that integrate architectural, engineering, and brand elements, translating business strategies into scalable design solutions that influence store environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of program or project management in retail design, architecture, or construction.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale programs.
• Proficiency in design and project management tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Smartsheet, MS Project).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-disciplinary design projects from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with timelines and budgets.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Store Design, Real Estate, Property Management, and other internal teams.
• Translate program scope and design intent into actionable plans, balancing aesthetics and constructability.
• Champion design excellence and consistency across store formats and initiatives.
• Manage program-level schedules, risks, change and communications across stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes and improving collaboration between design and construction teams.
• Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainability practices.
