Job summary

Crusoe Energy Systems is hiring a Storage SRE to maintain and improve our distributed cloud storage infrastructure supporting AI workloads. You will implement automation, ensure data reliability, and scale NVMe-backed volumes for high-demand compute clusters.

You will collaborate with storage engineers and hardware/kernel teams, maintain performance, and drive fault-tolerant architectures for AI-first cloud environments. This is an on-site role in Bellevue with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/EE or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Storage SRE or storage engineering experience.
• Hands-on with enterprise storage platforms such as Pure Storage or EMC, including architecture.
• Knowledge of object, block, and file storage paradigms.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or C.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and deployment tooling (Terraform/Ansible/Puppet).
• Deep knowledge of Linux internals, I/O, memory, and storage scheduling.
• Familiarity with NFS/SMB/iSCSI/NVMe-oF.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker for containerized workloads.
• Experience building and operating managed storage services on AWS/GCP/Azure.

Responsibilities

• Build automation and self-healing tools to monitor and maintain Crusoe's distributed cloud storage infrastructure.
• Drive reliability initiatives for data replication, encryption, backup/restore, and robust failover mechanisms.
• Support high-performance NVMe-backed volumes for large-scale AI compute clusters.
• Ensure availability and performance of storage services with careful error budgeting.
• Investigate and resolve storage incidents using telemetry, logs, and performance profiling.
• Collaborate with hardware and kernel teams to optimize I/O paths and cache policies.
• Contribute to fault-tolerant, scalable storage backends tailored for AI-first cloud environments.
