Job summary

Crusoe is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer to architect and steer storage strategy for AI-scale infrastructure. You will bridge NVMe hardware and distributed object stores, shaping the multi-year roadmap and ensuring performance at scale.

You will lead system programming in C/C++, Go or Rust, drive open-source contributions, and collaborate across teams to align the storage stack with business milestones including an IPO path.

Qualifications

• 12+ years building and operating large-scale distributed cloud infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting and IO path optimization skills.
• Self-motivated with ownership in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep knowledge of distributed state and petabyte-scale data durability.
• Solid SDLC practices, coding standards and testing.
• Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive Crusoe's storage engine long-term strategy and roadmap.
• Leverage system programming in C, C++, Go or Rust for V2 storage.
• Architect and implement NFS/SMB/iSCSI/NVMe-TC storage solutions.
• Drive open-source contributions (Ceph, GlusterFS, Lustre, OpenEBS).
• Lead architecture reviews across storage, networking and virtualization.
• Lead tiger teams to resolve kernel IO and global tail-latency bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Exec Leadership and Product to align tech with IPO milestones.
