Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Storage Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of overall experience in large-scale storage architecture, operations, production engineering, or infrastructure; 6+ years of people management or technical leadership experience.
• Deep knowledge of enterprise storage systems spanning block, file, object, and high-performance parallel file systems.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating solutions from multiple major storage vendors (NetApp, Pure Storage, Cloudian, DDN).
• Understanding of storage hardware internals and data center networking for storage connectivity.
• Observability tooling experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and alerting rulesets.
• Strong Ansible configuration management for automated provisioning and day-2 operations.
• Scripting in Python and/or Bash; REST API integration for CMDB and provisioning workflows.
• Proven track record managing large-scale multi-vendor storage environments (100 PB+).

Responsibilities

• Lead petabyte-scale storage deployments across on-premises data centers and major CSPs, owning end-to-end lifecycle from design to production hand-off.
• Engineer and maintain automation pipelines integrating storage with CMDB, configuration management platforms, and observability stacks.
• Define and drive continuous improvement initiatives for data center efficiency, power, density, and rack-space optimization.
• Develop self-service tools and dashboards for internal customers to track storage capacity and growth projections.
• Coordinate with partner infrastructure teams to align capacity views and resolve cross-domain bottlenecks.
• Manage vendor relationships and lead hardware refresh and EOL planning across storage portfolio.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow storage deployment engineers; establish runbooks and on-call practices.
• Partner with architecture and security teams to evaluate new storage technologies and production-ready standards.
• Own procurement, rack integration, provisioning, capacity expansion, decommissioning, and data destruction with compliance.
