Job summary

Adyen Storage Team in Chicago is seeking a storage engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust data storage systems.

You will lead end-to-end storage management, including capacity planning, backups, disaster recovery, and performance optimization, while collaborating with Platform Engineering. This role favors on-site work at our Chicago office and demands hands-on expertise in storage technologies and scripting.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of Linux systems administration focusing on storage (Ceph).
• Experience with enterprise storage systems (Purestorage, NetApp, EMC, Dell, IBM, Hitachi).
• Strong knowledge of RAID, LVM, NFS, iSCSI, multipathing, and filesystems (ext4, XFS, ZFS).
• Shell scripting; knowledge of Python, Puppet or Ansible.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware or KVM).
• Familiarity with AWS S3 and EBS.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Zabbix).

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy storage infrastructure (SAN, NAS, DAS, Object Storage).
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize storage systems for performance and reliability.
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting for future storage needs.
• Develop backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot storage issues and maintain configurations and standards.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering on upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
• Automate storage provisioning and management using scripting or IaC tools.
